gundy
Over the last few years we have had over 70 teams that entered events and the backed out or didn't make it to the event. Did they change team name and then race or did they just change their mind about racing. What happened to them?? ben 594
70 teams… 70 different answers. Examples… Basil Weenie – still racing in Texas (4th at Harris hill in 2022) Kone Killers – aren’t they now DVM? (2nd in B at Sebring in 2021) Bio hazard #3 – Mad over vpi change & build stalled Flying Ghost CRX – has 2 very fast e36 EC cars that they are running (Ozark 2022) I bet money, team drama (that e46 that was for sale in florida that I wanted to take advantage of by buying the car cheap), crashes, other cars, family, Covid, other series being main focus of the team, heck a bad testday a few weeks before an event could side line me for 9 months easily. This is the nature of what we do: it’s hard to get to the track. So many things work against us.
Team Infiniti
A couple of those teams names ring a bell with lemons, could’ve been a crossover and didn’t stay, at least one I know the primary passed away. Tons of reasons
craig71188
Autobody Specialists - car is still in Columbus, the (primary) drivers that work for Brian (car owner) lost interest in doing all the prep on the car so he has been doing other motorsports events in other cars he owns. I'm sure there are many, many stories.
Team Infiniti
Rereading the list On 6/17/2022 at 1:14 PM, gundy said: DRVOLKS.com Racing A few years ago he mentioned wanting to run an alternate fuel that would require high-pressure fuel cylinders that aren’t allowed, wasn’t happy as similar systems were certified for safe street use. Next, was pushing pretty hard for a dual clutch Computer shifted transmission to be called automatic, it was met with universal resistance, haven’t heard much of them since “torque converter“ was added to the rulebook to describe a automatic transmission. Ian
Pretty sure JTK was at RA last fall. May be the backup team to JSK as they both run Maximas.
Ian
The real question is what happened to Tuttle? Still pouting after Displacement Ballgate? Or did something se happen.

I remember sitting at Seneca lodge with some other racers and listening to him and his kids brag about how they took 3 cars out of the race by bumping them. We were 1 of those cars.... I called him out on it and he said " dude, we are imsa drivers". Oh, that's cool then. You aren't a d bag obviously....

I assumed there had to be some sort of relationship there. Nearly matching names, matching cars. Just a happy accident?

jmabarone
Yeah, the funny thing is how many IMSA drivers pay for "their" ride just like renting a seat at a CC race.

Only one of them is his kid and more importantly none of them would do that. They've never run IMSA, he's the only one that's Pro raced and if he said that, he was trolling you and it worked. lol
Scott
Waaaay late to the party but Miller AutoSport would be me. Just took much longer to get going and life managed to get in the way. Had our first race at Road America in Sept '22 and fingers crossed looking at two races this year. Scott
ETR
I used to run with BurganZ racing, we had a pair of 280zx's that bounced between Lemons/Chumpcar/WRL back when that was still a thing. The team was sorta fizzling out as I was gaining more steam, and already being a miata nerd it was a no brainer to build my current car in '18 to continue on. Their last race was in spring '19 and the cars have sat garaged since then I believe. 144 was getting pretty rotten, 113 was a fresh build that should still be pretty nice. Sorry if you ever had contact, some were the red-misty type.
