lordmulgath
Hey, anyone at the track with internet access feel like giving a bit of an update? I can see the live timing but that really only tells like 1/10th of the story(s). Black Flags? good back and forths?I'm stuck at work today so please someone, post something!!!Is the 1:35 best time legit? That seems a little quick for the cars that are usually chumps. 1:44's are the typical spec miata times, I imagine some of the teams might be right around this mark. Tubby
The live timing is working but the lines are scrunched up so it's impossible to read the times. Anyone else having that issue? I viewed it in Chrome and Firefox. I haven't tried Internet Exploder yet.

lordmulgath
Have there been a lot of yellow's? I notice the lap times creep up to 3-4 min every now and then.

TAJracing45
Man, what a race! What a track!! THANK YOU CCWS for getting us in here! Everyone drove like pros except for one donkey hat in the Panzer BMW: Driver spun on the downhill past the bridge heading into T12 and ended up on Pit-In on drivers right. When he got going again he darted across traffic to Pit-In of drivers left...in front of traffic! He, as well as the cars that he almost wrecked are all very lucky). Have never seen a more stupid and dangerous move before in my life. Thanks Donnie for the clarification!
Craig
Any word on the protest of a couple of the top finishers for questionable lengths in drivers stints? The 2 hour limit might be worth reminding teams of in the drivers' meeting. There was a team that had overlooked that limit at NOLA.
Team Infiniti
Reminders are good.Didnt hear about the overlook team, how long did they wind up running 1 stint or was it multiple?
dweymer
A cold and windy hello from Atlanta! We had a rocky start with a lot of offs and mechanicals within the first 90 minutes! Everyone settled down and RACED!Yes, the Panzer team had a "chat" with us after that event, won't happen again. Our standard operating procedure includes periodically reviewing driver stint times during the race; and scrutinize the top 5 to ensure everyone is playing by the rules. There were no "protests", just other racers asking if we had reviewed the times, which we did.Congrats to all the racers and crew that ran with us today, and we look forward to a great race tommorrow! Stubborn we are...some would say stupid...we prefer stubborn.See the story in the "what did you do to your chump car today" thread... dinanm3atl
I was watching and taking pictures... and it was awesome. I cannot WAIT to finish our ChumpCar. Most of our team was out there talking to people on Friday and doing out best to learn. Then we watched the racing from all over the track and watched timing from our phones. We are hooked and we didn't even run yet. Thread up later with photos.
CutlassRacer
We noticed some guys stretching the driver stints, especially at the end of the race. We pitted exactly with 2 hours to go and only one car ahead of us pitted after that.......interesting. We had a brake line crack with about 10 minutes to go, we were fourth when that happened.Lots of cautions today, several red flags, some good driving, some bad driving pretty much sums up alot of it. We got hurt by several of the cautions as we were catching other cars and the pace car picked us up, or we were only a few cars from the pace car so the cars we were chasing were able to go halfway back around the track while we were riding behind the pace car. Kinda confusing why the pace car/truck does not pick up the leader?? On one caution I was behind a car that was going 20-25mph all the way around the track and people piled up behind us. There were several cars that I had to take evasive action with because they were not using their mirrors at all. Actually, each of our drivers had to deal with this. One really big thing that I do not understand is that all of the corner workers kept their yellow flag out, while the flag stand is waving the greens flag after a caution. With the above mentioned slow car that I was following during one caution, people caught up to us that had taken the green flag, while we were rolling towards 10/11 with the caution flags still out.I did have contact with the GT30/Jacky Iycks #66 in 7. One of those deals where I probably should have waited, and he probably should have seen me, but we continued on. They had some contact with the wall earlier, and fought the car overheating, but they were MUCH quicker than they were when we raced at Sebring. The MR2 was crazy fast. We heard some grumblings of how does an engine swapped car with a nice wing and front splitter get no penalty laps, but when you are fast, people complain, lol. When they really get after the cornering in that car it will be unbeatable,
Craig
Didnt hear about the overlook team, how long did they wind up running 1 stint or was it multiple?I don't remember the guy I was talking to mentioning multiple stints, but I don't know for certain. I'll admit, since we're not really in the running to win, I didn't feel I needed to pursue it farther than reminding them that the limit is two hours (which the gentleman I spoke to was apparently unaware). I never followed up with the lap times to see if anybody actually ran an overlong stint.
JustinParcher
I'm guessing the really quick (i.e. too quick to be a real lap) times come from someone who goes into the pits, across the timing line, through the paddock, and back across the line. It happens sometimes. Judging how the Amaxaphobe car is a Fiero, I certainly wouldn't be surprised to find out it earned that time via the paddock. I kid because I care.
