jsausley
Hello everyone,Just got home from the VIR race and had a few things that I felt needed to be said.First off - thank you to "Ruke Boy Racing," car #1 and the team that lent us a crankshaft pulley for our car. It was your help that made this our first complete ChumpCar enduro! We came in 35th overall but it was a resounding success for us, even though we were an EC car. It's our third race overall but our first completion.Second, and much more importantly - I want to personally thank Michael Chisek, his wife and the entire ChumpCar staff for their support during and after the race and their gracious gesture for awarding Keith and our team with the "Quick Thinking" trophy. As some of you heard, one of our drivers came in early feeling tired and suffering from breathing difficulties. Almost immediately after coming in he suffered a heart attack. Fortunately the great VIR medical staff was on hand and he was taken straight to Danville Regional for care. He is stable now and is doing better, they had to put a stint in due to a 90% blockage. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, and I will try to update everyone on his status through the next week. Thanks to all of the concerned drivers, crew members and others who came up to us during the race today and wished us and Keith the best. This shows how many great people there are out there doing this stuff and even though we're all competing on the track, we're all in this together. Again, thanks.I took this picture because I thought you guys might like to see it. I wanted to show how much it means to us that the ChumpCar team and everyone else at the track today showed their support for Keith and the team. This trophy is going straight to him as soon as he comes home from the hospital and I'm sure he will be very appreciative that everyone was thinking about him today. Thanks again for everything, including the great racing!- Jordan

csadn
Where'd the Datsun model come from? And, from someone who has seen the magical effect on waiting times the phrase "I'm having some Breathing Problems" has: Wish him luck.
jsausley
The Datsun model is a Kyosho model, I found that one on ebay. Thanks for the wishes guys. Unfortunately no new news on Keith yet - he's still in intensive care at the hospital, stable condition but not much improvement yet. We're hoping he improves enough to come home late this week but we'll see.
Guest Mr_Bill
Glad to hear that our spare crankshaft pulley was able to get you to the finish. Ours ended up giving out with ~1 hour to go and now rests intact or in multiple pieces around the oak tree corner. We tried looking for it after the race but to no avail....think we pushed our luck when we found our front bumper in T7 at Road Atlanta last year. Jeff G 78
Hey Jordan and Mr Bill, they aren't cheap, but I've heard good things about Dale Mfg. for damper rebuilding. Face it, the 40 year old rubber in our dampers is not up to the strain of endurance racing and $110 might not be a bad investment. I'm running a good used damper with a second good spare, but if I fail another one, I'm going this route.http://www.dalemfg.com/harmonicbalancer_018.htm

Sorry to hear that you guys had the same problem. We'll be sending Raymond another pulley once we get it pulled off of our spare car. Thanks again for the help, couldn't have finished without you guys.Hey Jordan and Mr Bill, they aren't cheap, but I've heard good things about Dale Mfg. for damper rebuilding. We were actually planning to retire it after this event (we're working on another car - this one is far too modified to ever run Chump without penalties or getting stuck in EC) but the plans are still up in the air.
