Official Lost & Found Thread

Racing all day is hard.  By the time the checker falls all most of us can think of is getting to bed.  It is during this time that people forget things and leave them behind.  I make a sweep of the pits/paddock at night and before I leave in the morning which has netted me some good stuff - fire extinguishers, fuel jugs, chairs, gloves, etc.  Sometimes the team who lost the item contacts me and I can give them their stuff back.  Most times not and it goes in a pile in the barn.  So, here is your official lost and found thread.  Lose something?  Post it up here.  Find something?  Post it up here.

Jim lost his cooler on pit lane stall 30.  I think the GoDaddy team might have mistakenly grabbed it after the race, that's the side it was on.  Can't remember the color because for some reason I never remember colors...  It had dog food and maybe some PBR in it.  Probably a good thing the beer was out of reach because I got pulled over by the cops on the way home that night with no lights or tag on my car trailer.   I think the cop was a chumpcar fan by the time he let me go with a warning - he asked a million questions about the race.

I think we left a bright green power cord in pit stall 31...  after the bbq the guys brought the stuff back to the truck while I cleaned up the mess...  and apparently we are down a power cord...   i guess... I had two, now I have one...  for all I know, mom may have borrowed it from the team...

I lost $96,413 at Daytona.  Anyone find it?

I'll bite.  Gotta hear this one.    Lots of napkin math going on at this event because of the huge turnout.  Popular speculative consensus is that the Chief Chump went home from Daytona with duffel bags of cash too big to be allowed as carry-ons when he boarded his flight home.   The airplane might have even been too heavy to take off.  :)

Im curious as well but if so, so be it, he deserves something to make up for the races where he caught the entire bill, his sandbox and one hell of one, kudos !

Mike started a useful and serious thread, lets keep it less cluttered for those that need it

I think that we have the cooler. It was grey with an expandable handle and wheels. There was no PBR in it, but there was a half eaten chicken and a few Gatorades.  It was in the corner of pit stall 29.  We have yet to unload the trailer but I am pretty sure that is an accurate description.  At a fuel stop halfway home we realized that we managed to “antique†the entire interior of our trailer with a premature evacuation of a 10lb fire bottle somewhere inside.  We the can bring the cooler to the next race or figure out someway to get it back to you.

Hey, I know that chicken!   Yes, that sounds like it.  I also remember some nasty chicken livers in there that were for Jim's pitbulls.  Thank you so much - I guess our team managed to get to the PBRs before you picked it up.    :) I hope the squirrel didn't get too much of the extinquisher powder in his fur .  Be sure and remove all of that stuff from the car because its highly corrosive and could cause body panels to rust which I am sure is the last thing you want to have happen to your concours racecar.  Just keep the cooler as a gift from your pit mates.  It was great racing with you guys.

Our fire extinguisher walked off at Watkins Glen.  Easy to do as they are all red.  It had a tag that said it was last serviced in Lakeville, MN.  Our new Fire Extinguisher will be heavily labeled/stickered.
