June 8-9 Michigan Madness at Gingerman Raceway

Recommended Posts

Looks like Fubar in the lead, are they running the Miata or the BMW?

TFE in second with their "new" E36, finally running to it's potential.

Mustache running third ahead of Bucksnort, in an E30 showdown.

Four Car Garage rounding out the top 5 at the back of the lead lap.

A few other cars I recognize in the top 10, Mopar for Life, Dirty thirty and Miaro.

Looks like a 3 way Subaru battle just outside the top 10, all doing a rain dance no doubt.

Good to see Simon has the Failcar Saab running again.

The GFDSU Miata is 18th.

Chumpscott's #666 in 21st

Holy Rollers way back in 28th :( (but has the second fastest lap so far)

Appears that BAR isn't running after only 18 laps?

35 cars started, Fubar has fastest lap with a 1:51.054

What a gorgeous day out here for racing. Fubar is running their stupid fast BMW and is doing well. Holy Rollers are working on their car. Apparantly solid brake lights all the time. Had some fun battles out there on the first stint

Half way...

Fubar E36 still leads

Bucksnort and Mustache E30's 2nd and 3rd

WRC Dropouts Turbo Legacy is best of the non-BMW's

4 more BMW's in top 10 (Dirty Thirty, 4CGM, TFE, Chumpty Dumpties II)

Also the Miaro and Kentucky Spirits' Z31

BAR is turning laps again, is that a 328? That would make two that I know of, will be interesting to see what the GMV is on those next year.

Holy Rollers now have the second fastest lap just behind Bucksnort with a 1:50.801

Field is spreading out a bit, I'd bet tomorrow will be a dogfight.

BAR having new car blues. After over an hour behind the wall, back on track! Camaro burnt a piston and is done ( enter Tubby fire remark here) More reports after the race when stiggy can get to the computer , is playing pace car driver.

Got a text from the New Haven volunteer fire dept. They were ready for Team Phoenix.

Sorry to hear about the camaro. Who needs all eight cylinders?

Congrats to Fubar, really racking up those MOV laps :o

8th place for Crank Yankers with the 25th fastest lap time, nicely done B)

Better luck tomorrow for BAR and Holy Rollers.

I assume the Saab will not be back tomorrow? What happened to the 666? Will GFDSU crack the top 10?

There is a sweet old TR8 here.  It sounds great, but they were in and out of the pits all day with brake issues.  They have replaced almost everything, but they still have the same problem.

The Tools had what they thought were ignition issues, but after replacing everything ignition related, they are pretty sure it is a fuel tank pickup problem.  They have the tank out now trying to fix it.

Thanks a lot!!! We weren't the fastest today but we stayed consistent and were out of the pits all three stops at 5 minutes! I think the fast pit stops helps us out a lot

we finished 11th. my fast lap at 2:03.900 in lap 32 held up till Joel took over. apparently, after 5 hours turning laps, an old Miata can run 2 hours between 2:02 and 1:57.5....show off :/

jenny ran all day without breaking. after the race we realized we had nearly pulled the nuts off of the top of the shock rod. some tapping and threading didn't fix it, but welding the nut back on did :). thanks Bucksnort for the welder!

Day two, chance of rain later in the afternoon but this morning is calm and warmer than yesterday morning. Friday night clear beautiful starry sky... last night the sound of generators welders hammers two cycle blenders making margaritas and laughter, and occasional cheer when the car up on jackstands fired again.

I say we have another great day of racing ahead of us. Oh yeah and the food here at Gingerman is excellent... EXCELLENT!

My volunteer crew is absolutely top-notch also, thank you Sheila Tom Dave Keith KeithII Jeff Lori TomII & Stiggy!

Vern and his corner crew is also top not.... this whole place and all those people are great.

This has been a very good weekend so far, no reason to believe today's race won't be the same.
