If you love road racing and you've never been to VIR, you owe it to yourself to visit.  The facility is gorgeous, VIR bills itself as America's Motorsport Resort and it really is resort-like. The facility is well-groomed with plenty of grass-covered, rolling hills and wide open spaces. The facility features on-site lodge rooms, villas, as well as the historic Oak Tree Tavern. Most importantly, the race track is fantastic. It's fast, technical, and challenging. VIR definitely should be on every serious racer's bucket list.

We'll be racing soon.  I'll be back to bring you the drop of the green flag and all of the exciting action throughout the race.

Big incident on the front straight. Car #313 (Team Unknown -- Chevy Camaro) tried a pass in the grass (on lap 3) and went for a wild ride across the grass to drivers left. The car is about 30 yards off the course and is not moving. The driver appears to be fine. He went for quite a ride, doing multiple 360's, but did not hit anything.

The driver of car #313 will be having a little "Come to Jesus" meeting with the Chief Steward.  After attempting an in-the-grass pass and spinning off the course, the driver exited his vehicle to check the car over for damage.  The Chief Steward is not happy.

Car #313 broke his axle while spinning down the front straight and into the grass.  A rollback is on the way to retrieve the car and driver.
